Edgardo Verzi. Born 1940, Montevideo, Uruguay. Lives and works in Montevideo.




Civil Engineer: degree granted 1963. Postgraduate engineering studies in concrete technology, prefabricated housing and structural analysis: Italy (1965) and (1970), France (1965), Argentina (1974).




Participation in multiple national and international public and private sector projects; performed technical, managerial and directorship functions for corporations.




1983-1987 Studied Drawing and Painting at the studio of Prof. Guillermo Fernández.

1985 Courses in Engraving, Printmaking and Relief. (Club de Grabado)

1986 Studied with Sculptor Octavio Podestá.

1987 Course in Video Art at the National Museum of Visual Art, Prof. John Sturgeon.

Investigates the creative process using painting, macro-photography, video and digital treatment. Studies image in connection with music, literature, film, and video. Explores interaction between picture and observer.

Classical music listener integrates a seven people group that weekly meets to listen and discuss musical compositions, from middle age to contemporary music. Frequent film viewer, ancient member of “Cinemateca Uruguaya”.
